Product price lists are used to determine item rates while preparing quotations. OurSys ERP offers multiple types of price lists to address different commercial and operational scenarios. This article explains the various price list types available in OurSys and how they are applied.

General Price List

The General Price List is the default price list maintained in the home currency. It supports "effective from" and "effective to" dates, allowing prices to be time-bound. Item rates from this list are automatically picked during quotation creation. If an item is not defined in any price list, the rate must be entered manually.

Customer-Specific Price List

OurSys allows the creation of price lists for individual customers. A customer-specific price list takes precedence over the General Price List. If a customer-specific price list exists, its rates are applied; otherwise, rates are picked from the General Price List.

Currency-Wise Price List

Currency-wise price lists can be maintained for transactions in foreign currencies. When the quotation currency differs from the home currency, OurSys automatically picks rates from the relevant currency-wise price list. This functions as a general price list for non-home currencies.

Sales Region-Wise Price List

Different price lists can be configured for different sales regions. For example, the same item may be priced at USD 100 in Malaysia and USD 110 in Dubai. The applicable sales region is derived from the customer master, ensuring region-appropriate pricing.

Slab-Wise (Quantity-Based) Price List

OurSys supports quantity slab-based pricing, where unit rates vary based on ordered quantity. Typically, higher quantities attract lower rates. This pricing method is useful for offering volume discounts and encouraging larger order sizes.

Cut-Off Rate

The cut-off feature allows you to define a minimum permissible rate for an item. OurSys ensures that the quoted price does not fall below this cut-off rate, helping maintain margin discipline.

Unit of Measurement-Wise Pricing

Pricing can also be defined based on the unit of measurement. For example, an item can be priced at INR 2,500 per piece and INR 300 per kilogram, depending on how it is sold.

Conclusion

OurSys ERP provides extensive flexibility and depth in price list management, covering a wide range of pricing permutations required by businesses. Leveraging these features effectively can help optimise pricing accuracy, consistency, and profitability. We encourage you to explore these capabilities to get the most value from your OurSys ERP.
